30 Day Song Challenge: Day 30 Your Favourite Song At This Time Last Year

Dragonland- Rusty Nail

A heavier cover version of the X-Japan song, while the guitar solo sounds out of place from the rest of the song, the vocals sound really strong and the vocalists ability to hold notes longer gives this version a more epic feel, that and it's strange to hear a Swedish metal group covering a J-Rock song and making it sound convincingly Japanese.

30 Day Song Challenge: Day 29 - A Song From Your Childhood

Eiffel 65- Blue (Da Ba Dee)

Ah the 90's with your cheesy Europop music, this was perhaps one of the most infectious song from that era. Well that and MmmBop by Hanson.

30 Day Song Challenge: Day 28 - A Song That Makes You Feel Guilty

Gackt- 届カナイ愛ト知ッテイタノニ抑エキレズニ愛シ続ケタ••• (Todokanai Ai To Shitteru No Ni Osae Kirezu Ni Aishitsuzuketa...)

When I did day 23 I completely forgot about this, perhaps one of the most epic rock ballads I have ever heard, ok Todokanai Ai To Shitteru No NBi Osae Kirezu Ni Aishitsuzuketa translates as 'Even Though My Love Will Never Reach You, I Still Love You Uncontrollably' and probably isn't wedding appropriate more stalker territory (though I've not read the translated lyrics) I think it'd still work, maybe.

30 Day Song Challenge: Day 27 - A Song That You Wish You Could Play

Dragonforce- Through The Fire And The Flames

Bit of an obvious choice I know, everyone banged on about this when it appeared on Guitar Hero but I wonder how many people actually tried to play this on the guitar?

30 Day Song Challenge: Day 26 - A Song That You Can Play On An Instrument

Bill Conti- Gonna Fly Now
Ok I can only play the opening bars of this song (thanks to someone in woirk showing me how to play it) I was shown how to play a bit more of it but I can't remember how the rest of it goes.

30 Day Song Challenge: Day 25 - A Song That Makes You Laugh

'Weird Al' Yankovic- Headline News

Tobe honest I could have picked any of Weird Al's songs, they're all brilliantly funny. A parody of Crash Test Dummies Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm, despite the fact I've listened to this song hundreds of times it's the sound effects used in the song that I always laugh at as well as the situations Al's dreamt up.

30 Day Song Challenge: Day 24 - A Song That You Want To Play At Your Funeral

Gackt- Journey Through The Decade

I suppose I could have gone with 'Only The Good Die Young' by Iron Maidne which would be ironic if I died as an old man. However this song seems to be more fitting, the first chorus has always made me think about the metaphor of life being a journey and how we never truly start our journey's nor do we finish them. Journey's are always started by our parents as they create us and put us on the path of life and even though there is the physical sense of death we tend to live on as 'legends', stories passed down to our children and their children.
